SPR## is a more than a floating theatre. It is a space/structure adaptable to any kind of representation. Our building gives a white canvas on which the director, curator can draw on. SPR## is a structure where people come together for different kind of performances (theatre, dance, concerts, exhibition, installation, party…) We didn’t start or design with one particular play/performance.

We created a very simple base structure: a bearing structure of black coated steel on a big floating hashtag #. In between the fingers of the #, pontoons or mobile elements (boxes, tribune and stage elements) can be parked. They can all float independently and are easily interchangeable. Depending on the performances, the scenography can be very open and use the surrounding view of the city or physical elements (the water, the banks…)

On the other hand, it can be also very closed and create an atmosphere more isolated from the environment. SPR## exist of two parts. One part is the floating square where the performances will be played. The other part, constructed in the same materials is connected to the river bank and host the facilities like toilets, foyer and ticket shop. The concept fits perfectly to the city of Berlin. The city where everything is changing so quickly. Our structure gives an answer to the feeling that we have with Berlin and what is so special about Berlin. Adaptable and temporary.
